Applications are currently open for the NSF EPSCoR Future Technologies & Enabling Plasma Processes (FTPP) Summer 2025 Internship Programs!
Our internships are offered to all STEM majors, enrolled full-time in a higher education institution in the southeastern U.S. Applications will close on February 18th, 2025.
Internship Programs:
• RIPP – Regional Introduction to Plasma Physics – 9-week paid summer research internship program hosted at an FTPP institution. Gain hands-on research experience fostering lasting connections between students in the southeastern U.S. and investigators based in Alabama.
• CIPTA – Corporate Internship Plasma Training in Alabama – 10-week paid summer internship program offered at an Alabama-based private company. This program provides internship opportunities focusing on industrial plasma technology applications, equipping participants for transition into the workforce.
• ISWC – International Space Weather Camp – Summer camp with university course credit, all-expense paid internship, including international travel to Germany. This 4-week program unites students from the U.S. and Germany for a series of lectures, hands-on projects, experiments, and excursions. Participants delve into the theoretical foundations and practical applications of Space Weather, solar, and space physics.
• SE REU – South-Eastern Research Experiences for Undergraduates – This funded/paid program is tailored for students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to engage in high-quality REU programs at partner FTPP institutions. These institutions cover a diverse range of research areas, such as space science and materials science, providing valuable opportunities for participating students.
