CIMM Research Experience for Undergraduates

The Consortium for Innovation in Manufacturing and Materials (CIMM) Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) project is a nine- or ten-week summer program where students work collaboratively on topics related to advanced manufacturing and materials research. CIMM research addresses the scientific and technological barriers relevant to two broad classes of manufacturing methods: (1) Multi-scale forming and replication for high-throughput manufacturing and (2) 3-D Laser-based Printing for adaptive manufacturing. Students will be integrated into ongoing research projects in state of the art facilities in an environment of peer and interinstitutional mentoring and collaboration.

Each student will receive a $500/week stipend, free housing in university residence halls (if needed), and up to $400 travel expense reimbursement. For more information and to apply, please visit the website below. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2018.

Summer 2017 and 2017-2018 Academic Year UROP Scholarships

The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) announces the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) Summer 2017 AND 2017-2018 Academic Year Scholarships to promote undergraduate research.

The UROP program promotes intensive undergraduate research opportunities for university students. Through these research experiences, our goal is to enhance the recruitment and retention of undergraduates in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) disciplines, particularly those related to solar energy and its effects on water resources and the environment in general.

Note – Students with research tied to medical sciences are encouraged to apply for the National Institutes of Health IDeA Network for Biomedical Research Excellence (NIH INBRE). For more information, visit http://www.unr.edu/inbre
